This week, I had the pleasure of getting behind the wheel of the captivating 2025 Chevy Equinox SUV, a model that has collected widespread acclaim for its spacious interior, sleek design, and impressive capabilities. As a seasoned listener to the Car Pro Show, I can attest that this compact SUV stands out from the crowd, boasting a roomy cabin, a visually stunning exterior, and a smooth, effortless driving experience.
Notably, the Equinox is available in both electric and gasoline variants, making it an excellent choice for those weighing the pros and cons of switching to an eco-friendly ride. The EV model, in particular, is a testament to General Motors' innovative approach, offering a powertrain that is both efficient and potent.
During my test drive, I was impressed by the Equinox EV's remarkable range of 319 miles... which was remarkably consistent even with the air conditioning and highway speeds of 75 miles per hour. While the dual motor setup does boost power to 300 horses, it comes at the cost of reduced range to 285 miles. The gasoline-powered variant, "But then," "provides a more traditional driving experience.".. with a 1. 5-liter turbocharged engine delivering 175 horses.

The 2025 Chevy Equinox is a compact SUV available in both electric and gasoline variants. The electric version is powered by an 85-kWh Lithium-Ion battery, with a front-wheel drive setup producing 200-horsepower, and a dual motor setup boosting power to 300-horses with all-wheel drive. The range is rated at 319 miles for the front-wheel drive version, with the dual motor setup reducing range to 285 miles.
The interior features include Evotex two-tone faux leather seats, a center console with cup holders, a center glove box, and a wireless phone charger. The back seat offers surprising leg room and good headroom, along with USBs, air vents, "and a 110-volt power outlet for charging devices." The cargo area measures 57 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down... with additional storage under the load floor.

This week, I had the terrific 2025 Chevy Equinox SUV. If you are a regular listener to the Car Pro Show, you know this is one of my most recommended compact SUVs, primarily because it is roomier than most, it is extremely stylish, and it drives very nicely. It is also a very good value for the money. You should also know that this particular one is the all-electric version. I love what GM is doing by offering gasoline versions of many of their EVs. The Equinox, the Blazer, and the Silverado are available as electric or gasoline and you can easily make a comparison.◌◌◌ ◌ ◌◌◌
For those on the fence on whether to go electric or not, this is really handy. The Equinox EV is powered by an 85-kWh Lithium-Ion battery rated at 200-horsepower. My tester is the front-wheel drive version, so it has one electric motor in the front, but there is a dual motor setup if you want all-wheel drive and that will boost you up to 300-horses. Range is always the big question and this one is rated at 319-miles and it was tracking on that mileage with the air-conditioning going strong, and a lot of highway speeds of 75-miles per hour.
The dual motor version does boost the power, but it cuts the range down to 285-miles. On the gasoline side, you can get a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo, which will net you 175-horses and trips to the gas station.
